Shankar ("we", "our", or "us") operates the ChoreChamp mobile application (the "App"). This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal information when you use our App.
Information Collection and Use
ChoreChamp is designed with privacy in mind. We collect minimal information necessary to provide our service:
- Family Data: Names, avatars, chores, and allowance information you enter into the app are stored locally on your device and synced through your personal iCloud account.
- Photos: If you choose to add profile photos or chore completion photos, these are stored locally and in your iCloud account. We do not have access to these photos.
- Purchase Information: If you subscribe to ChoreChamp Premium, Apple processes all payments. We receive only confirmation of your subscription status, not your payment details.
Data Storage
All your family's data is stored:
- Locally on your device using Apple's secure storage
- In iCloud (if enabled) using your personal Apple ID for syncing between your family's devices
We do not store your data on our servers. Your family's information never leaves Apple's ecosystem.
iCloud Sync
ChoreChamp uses Apple's CloudKit to sync data between your family's devices. This means:
- Data is encrypted in transit and at rest
- Only devices signed into the same iCloud account can access the data
- We cannot access your iCloud data
- You can disable iCloud sync in your device settings at any time
Children's Privacy
ChoreChamp is designed for family use, including children. We are committed to protecting children's privacy:
- We do not collect personal information from children or adults
- All data stays on your family's devices and iCloud account
- Children's profiles are created and managed by parents within the app
- We do not serve advertisements to children or anyone
- We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and similar regulations
Third-Party Services
ChoreChamp uses the following third-party services:
- Apple iCloud: For data synchronization (subject to Apple's privacy policy)
- Apple App Store: For app distribution and in-app purchases (subject to Apple's privacy policy)
We do not use any analytics services, advertising networks, or other third-party data collectors.
Data Retention
Your data remains on your devices and in your iCloud account until you choose to delete it. You can delete all app data by:
- Deleting the app from your device
- Managing iCloud storage in your device settings
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access all your data (it's stored on your device)
- Delete your data at any time
- Export your data (contact us for assistance)
- Disable iCloud sync while continuing to use the app locally
Security
We take security seriously:
- Parent mode is protected by a PIN code
- All data synced via iCloud is encrypted
- We follow Apple's security best practices
- We do not transmit your data to any external servers
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
